Du bon usage des lunettes noires et de l’argent public

BarilCity/08.02.08/TUR: This year, Bariland authorities’ prohibited import of very expensive cars to the republic. This restriction is applied to Bentley, Rolls-Roys, Lambardini, Ferrari, Maserati and Maybach cars. Price for these cars varies between $250,000 and $1 million and higher. Customs agencies have been unofficially instructed not to let pass these cars to the country.
The reason of this unusual instruction is unclear, but at the government session President II accused some businessmen and state officials of lack of modesty and breach of national traditions. He did not say what he means, but added that he is not going to tolerate acts, which are “contrary to national mentality.” He also demanded that law enforcement agencies should intensify struggle against auto hooligans and prevent use of black glasses in cars.
According to unofficial information, President was dissatisfied with disproportion between last year’s negative economic indexes (record inflation rate, chaos in construction and etc) and successful development of business of some officials.
Among the reasons people call purchase of Bentley car by one of Minister’s relative and nearly collision of a jeep with black glasses owned by a businessman with the president’s cortege.--0--
